Ghent Area Ministry is 20 Years Old!
So in honor of the partnerships and service GAM has provided to the Norfolk community in the past 20 years we are preparing a 20th Anniversary Gift to the Community food drive. We are asking GAM’s supporting partners – YOU - to provide meal boxes for distribution to families in need of food support.
Note: Distribution in 2nd week of December, in lieu of former Thanksgiving/Holiday baskets.
Place the following non-perishable food items in BOX (preferable) or MARKED BAGS ( ie: #1 of 3, #2 of 3, etc. also using a word/name); Include a note of encouragement or a verse of thanksgiving.
Shopping Food List: please include all items
□ Pasta sauce – can or jar □ Spaghetti Pasta
□ Tuna – 2 cans □ Egg Noodles or Penne Pasta
□ Cream of Mushroom Soup
□ Canned Corned Beef or Canned Chicken
□ Potatoes – Boxed Mashed or other styles
□ Hamburger Helper
□ Crackers – 1 box □ Soup -2 cans, hearty style/meal
□ Dried Beans – such as Pinto, Lentils, Red, Black
□ Rice (white or brown) or Rice-a-Roni side dish
□ Gravy – packet or jar
□ Unsweetened Cereal or Oatmeal
□ Bread Mix – Cornbread, Muffin
Canned Vegetables – 2 of each
□ Corn □ Peas
□ Green Beans □ Other
□ Tomatoes
□ Canned Fruit
□ Dessert/Cookies - box or bag
You are welcome to include other items such as: peanut butter, jelly, sugar, flour, or things helpful to make meals (non-perishable)
And a small gift card to local grocery store would be a bonus to allow purchase of perishable food stuff.
Box/Bags drop-off will be:
• Tuesday, 8 December & Wednesday, 9 December
• Both Days: 9:00am – 11:00am or 4:00pm – 6:00pm
• Drop-off location – First Presbyterian Church of Norfolk, 820 Colonial Ave, Norfolk, VA 23507
