Rev. Paul Muyimbwa
Pastor
Rev. Paul Muyimbwa was born in Mukono, Uganda, on January 28, 1973. After attending National Seminary in Ggaba, Kampala (Ggaba is a section of the city of Kampala in central Uganda. Ggaba is located on the northern shores of Lake Victoria), he was ordained to the Priesthood on July, 15, 2000. Father Muyimbwa has served in parishes in the Diocese of Lugazi (Lugazi is a town in the Central Region of Uganda); as Administrative Assistant to the Bishop of the Diocese of Lugazi; as Parochial Vicar in the Archdiocese of Boston; as parish priest in Lugazi Cathedral Parish and as Diocesan Treasurer General in the Diocese of Lugazi. He was also assigned as Parochial Vicar of Saint Vincent de Paul in Newport News, Saint Joseph in Hampton and Saint Mary Star of the Sea at Fort Monroe. After that he was then assigned to Holy Family Parish in Tazewell, Virginia. Fr. Paul is now our Parish priest and has been since August 2016.
Sr. Linh Do
Coordinator of Religious Education
Sr. Linh Do, is a professed religious sister belonging to the Lovers of the Holy Cross congregation. Sr. Linh has accepted the position of Coordinator of Religious Education, Christian Formation and Youth Ministry at Sacred Heart.
Sr. Linh brings knowledge and skills that will strengthen our capabilities at Sacred Heart. She was born and raised in Vietnam where she graduated with a Bachelors degree in English, before joining the Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis, MO. for her Master of Divinity degree. She has also completed five levels of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). Recently she has worked as resident chaplain at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.
The Coordinator of Religious Education develops, implements, and evaluates the religious education program, the Adult faith Formation programs, including the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and the Youth ministry at Sacred Heart Church. She mobilizes and trains Catechists in order to provide appropriate service to the programs under her care. She reports directly to Fr. Paul.
Dr. James Gallatin
Music Director
Jim Gallatin has been the Music Director at Sacred Heart Church in Norfolk since 1980. He studied the organ with Joseph Miranda in Salt Lake City, Dr. Charles Vogan at Old Dominion College [B.S. organ], and Dr. Alexander Boggs Ryan at Western Michigan University [M.M. organ]. He received a Ph.D. in Music from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music.
Chrissy Bush
Office Manager
Chrissy Bush has recently accepted the position of Full-time Office Manager at Sacred Heart Church. She is a resident of Virginia Beach, happily married to her husband Brett, and she is a mother of three children.
Chrissy has extensive experience, knowledge, and skills that will strengthen our capabilities at Sacred Heart. Her experience is enhanced by her studies in Psychology as well as work in several organizations. Most recently, Chrissy worked as an Administrative Assistant at a Collision Center in Louisiana.
As an Office Manager, Chrissy provides, clerical, administrative and managerial support to Fr. Paul in collaboration with the staff and volunteers. She reports directly to Fr. Paul.
